I entered this on another thread but can't find it.:brainfart-vi: I'll do my question this way so I can't loose it.
I am re-reading DF and Mac says JB is a seer. Does she know this for a fact? If it is a fact and he is a seer; he can't be a fae, can he?:33:
I need some help from all of you smart lasses who have all the theories and knowledge!!

She THINKS he is a seer but hes not... If im not mistaken seers are only women.... So hes def not a seer... I happen to think he is fae or fae type...

Jean, we are led to believe that seerers are only women. However, Fiona makes the comment about nulls being myths and that JB should know all about myths. So what if he is a male Seerer a myth!? It is an interesting thought don't know whether I believe it or not but it is possible in the world of KMM.

:happy_face_waving:Hi everyone! I'm quite new to this and I've just been reading some interesting comments and theories about all the KMM stories. I haven't really thought of anything you guys are talking about and now I'm racking my brain and re-reading to find out any connections with anyone or anything and how all the books fit and are setting up the stage for the fever series. About JB being a sidhe-seer, I don't think he is... In Immortal, Adam tells Gabby the ways of the sidhe-seers long ago pages 105-106...BUT with these series, anything is possible. Just my thought based on Adam.
Another question I have: there was a post about someone howling in a basement....I can't find it again to save my life, I think it might have been in reference to JB from Dark....but if so, I don't recall ever reading that. Can anyone tell me where to find this?
OH,OH, also, about the 5 druids (sorry might be wrong thread) in spell, queen A talked about adjusting things the way she wants them (the 5 druids), "where they can protect her" (i think is what it says) which makes me think that eventully all 5 will appear in the Fever series since she's missing.
Thanks-

I don't think he really is a seer. What is up with all the super-human stuff?
How could a seer jump like that?Well, what does everyone else think?

On the final page of Darkfever -
Mac talking...
"Are there more sidhe-seers out there, Barrons?" I asked. "Besides us?"
He nodded.
"Good. Because we're going to need them."
This could be interpetted several ways.
1. Yes - he is a sidhe-seer, because he is agreeing with Mac that yes, there are more sidhe-seers, besides the two of them.
2. He is just agreeing that there are more sidhe-seers out there.
I tend to lean toward the first and make the assumption that Jericho is a sidhe-seer, which would explain alot. But, I don't think he is JUST a sidhe-seer - I think there is a whole 'nother side of him that we haven't seen yet.

Yes I read that somewhere and having just read Darkfever again (in the last 2 weeks) I couldn't find anything about howling in a basement anywhere..... so I am mystified. The only thing I can assume is that the howling is in a piece elsewhere that I haven't read......
Can anyone enlighten us?

The part of the "something howling in the basement" is from the bloodfever booklet

And I'm pretty sure that sidhe-seers are female. A la Adam in Immortal and the BF booklet...We shall see.

I think that JB is agreeing with Mac, when she refers to him as a sidhe-seer, so she doesn't question him about what he really is.
Fae perhaps? I keep thinking he might be since he made her get the spear when they stole it from the O'Bannion and when she went to kill the Gray Man.....yes JB stabbed him with it, but it was still "half-wrapped in what used to be my favorite purse", making me think he never actually took it out thereby not really touching it. Unseelie seeking redemption maybe?:33:
Please let me know what you think....
Another thought that occured to me was the possiblity of him being a Berserker....although, I can't recall the color of his eyes.....
All these thoughts and theories really makes me want to go back through each book and take detailed notes.... It's all so interesting and I can't believe that I never thought of any of this until I joined the message board and read everyone's great ideas!

While I don't have any firm answer, I'm going to play devil's advocate. You've listed great reasons in the 'pro' column, for JB to be a vampire, though I would also add his aversion to religious/Christian relics. How about the following in the negative column:
a) JB is out in the daytime (though not necessarily daylight) - once when he rescues Mac from 1247 LaRuhe street and again in the booklet (which if you haven't read, it's sort of like inside information).
b) both Malluce and Ellis (another possible vampire?) are described as being sinuous, pale, and anemic-looking. That hardly describes JB.
What if JB is undead, immortal, and cursed to need blood, but is NOT a vampire? What if he is a werewolf - or better yet, the 'thing' that Jo came up with. The Vikolac is a being that seems to be a cross between a vampire and a werewolf. If I understand Jo's description, it is a Druid who was cursed by some higher power into channeling wolf-like characteristics. The Vikolac doesn't drink blood like a vampire, it is a legendary creature, and also doesn't only come out on the full moon. Whaddaya think of that???
I was reading through the thread about JB clues and i think this might explain a lot. I dont think JB is a seer or a vampire... But it would explain a lot. Anyone have an opinions?
If i have repeated anything in my posts, I'm sorry.. I'm new to this whole message board thing and trying my best to keep up with everyone's theories and racking my brain to find clues to justify a lot of them.... yikes! what a headache. You all are doing a really good job of picking these pages apart and reading in between the lines. I only wish that i picked up on it earlier in the series.
I think JB is slightly more than human. He has to be to jump down from the ceiling of a 30-foot warehouse without so much as a twisted ankle. I would say half-fae, but then, who are his parents?! I assume Cercinn is still in Cincinnati? I've only read the parts of Bloodfever that have appeared on the website and in the newsletter, so there may be something in the booklet that explains exactly what he is a little better; but frankly, the suspense over what he really is is as much fun as the sexual tension between him and Mac, so I'm in no great rush to find out for sure - I could wait until book 3 or 4 without going nuts (I think!)

I have my opinions on what I think JB is and it doesn't include being a sidhe-seer as Adam stated in Immortal that she seer's are female. I guess we will all just have to wait and see what happens as the story unfolds.

I agree with you, MaryV. As the Highlander books showed before, sidhe-seers may actually be the only humans that see the sidhe. BUT sidhe-seers are not the ONLY beings that see the sidhe. It just means that JB isn't pure regular human. He has to be something else or otherwise empowered.
Just sayin.

I think that JB is some type of an Imortal.

I believe that JB is an immortal too and also a fae but how high level a fae I am not really sure. I also believe that if he is high enough in the level of fae he could conceal his true identity from Mac. Mac I think still doesn't completely believe in her powers and her mind might be still be somewhat closed to her abilites because she still in her heart doesn't want to be a sidhe-seer.

Hm, I think, thatīs a very interesting question ^^
To my mind JB is something like a fae but...perhaps he was repudiated from his folk? This idea has been in my head for a very long time... but then I thought, he might be a vampire... Man! JB is so inscrutable and mysterious :happy0194:

I just finished reading both books and loved them. This is my first Moning books. I thought JB was a vampire in the beginning until he was up one morning when Mac's dad was there. Now I think he is either fae or an immortal of some kind. I'm comparing him to Ash in the darkhunters. Maybe we'll never know what he really is. But he is more than he seems.
The howling in the bottom of the garage is in Bloodfever, starts on pg.41

This seems to be a pretty old thread but I think Jericho is the son of the Unseelie King and his concubine, and I think Mac is V'Lane's daugher. Maybe that will liven things up again? LOL

This being in the Darkfever forum...is that the only info we can use for our theory? Because I really didn't have a clue until read more. I like the son of the UnSeelie King and his concubine theory. That is very interesting indeed. It could explain a multitude of things!
After reading more, I got the feeling that Barrons was what Mac heard under the garage. Once again...I need to go hunting for a Barrons theory thread. I'm afraind to spoil other books here. :wwink:
