I know this has been discussed, but I can't find it quickly so I was wondering if you ladies would help me out. Anyway, I am in the middle of rereading BF and I remember when I finished it before, I thought JB could be a vamp, but I wasn't completely convinced. Did ya'll discuss any reasons why he wouldn't be? Also, I really like the idea of him being a Sorcerer as was discussed in an earlier thread! I completely missed that in the mad search for answers for the contest the other day! Anway, thanks in advance for any thoughts on the vamp.

Well one of the reasons I was against it was that when the booklet came out and now in Darkfever he was in the shop in the day time when the Inspector came in. At least I think he was anyway!

I just don't get the vamp vibe. I can't wait to see what you think he is. I have definate ideas now.

I'm with Cheryle on that one. I really don't think he's a vamp, but he is something else for sure.

I am leaning more to fae but not vamp. I am on pins and needles, can't wait to buy it on our shopping trip tomorrow.

I am not even sure if I would say he was fae... I think he may be of druid descent or even berserker, but fae doesn't seem to be what comes to mind when I think of JB.

Welcome...Hope you enjoy it here.
This is a wonderful site full of great ladies...Glad you joined in.

JZB to most is not a vamp. One point in particular was the fact that even though JZB had blood on his person, it was on his HANDS and nowhere near his mouth, face, chin or on his shirt...As was described when Malluce had the tell-tale blood..:03:.

At some point in the beginning (especially with the whole vein-licking thing) I thought he might be a vamp, but then it just seemed too... not him. So nah, don't think he is.

I'm leaning towards druid or fae...just don't see him as a vamp....

If he is a Vampire, I think I would be disappointed. Not that a vampire series is so bad, just that a vmpire is a dark thing. Prone to evil, and such. I would rather see him as a living creature, not so undead.

All my theories about JZB are completely up in the air right now in anticipation of Blood Fever tomorrow, but if he is a vamp, I have no doubt Karen would throw everything we think we know about vamps out the window, and bend it to her style in such a way that we couldn't be disappointed. She's good like that. :03:

I posted something along this line, apparently on the wrong thread (Basque/Pict decent) So sorry, I'm new to this.

Basically I thought Vampire at first, until I read the afore mentioned thread, and now this one.

Now I'm thinking Druid or part human part something else. The question I asked on the other thread was, If JB is protected or cursed by fae magic, would ML sense it, like she does the OOPs, or how she can see through glamour? Or if he has any fae blood, would she sense it?

Again I am sorry for posting on the wrong thread, I will improve.

I dunno....the Druid idea has some merit, I think. I mean, we know from the Keltar that at least the powerful druids can see Fae, so maybe that's it. Though I don't know why he wouldn't just tell her, "oh, by the way, Mac, I'm a druid...." unless he's a DARK druid.....hmmm, food for though.

Or a druid who protects the dark hallows.

I'm leaning more toward druid as well. Like Keltar maybe? hmm? hmm? Like a reallllly powerful, really old, druid. I remember a scene with Fiona where she was asking him something and he said she wouldn't push it or something, would she? and then her voice changes and suddenly she agrees with what he wants her to agree with. Like the power of Voice? or compulsion. I don't know whether he is a dark druid or not yet. I'm perplexed as to why the Shades leave him alone. I guess, maybe I"ll get a little more insight in BF.
