Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix......
How many of you are going to see it tonight or have already been at midnight last night? We are going at 7pm tonight with my boys and our friends and their kids. I am so excited I can't wait! I am such a Harry Potter nerd! LOL! We read all the books and, yes I will be standing in line at the book store to get a copy on the 21st, and we go to the theater to see al the movies as soon as they come out!:D

Awe, man! I wanna go! I think I'll wait till this weekend though. I'm sure it'll still be packed but at least I'll have more time.
:crying-vi: I've been calling every movie theater and they are all sold out. I was finally able to get tickets for Saturday. Man, I hate waiting. I'm not a patient person. Heh.

Oh and by the way Claudia I may have to agree with you on Snape.
Also I may need to rethink Pink being my favorite color after seeing that one lady, Yikes!!!
I saw it today and loved, loved, loved it! The theater was full of kids yapping before the show started, but as soon as the WB came onto the screen they became totally silent...first movie I have ever been to that that happend. It was deffinitly the best so far.
Small spoiler for my girls...Gary Oldman looks so HOT!
Also, I agree about the book...I am very anxious as well! I will be sequestering myself in my house from Saturday until Sunday night after it is released, because I am sure I will have it done by then. I am not turning on the computer, TV, radio, talking to anyone, or leaving the house...I will not have this book spoiled for me!!

I am sooooo not wearing pink after this!
I'll not say anything about the movie until later - toward the end of the weekend.
I will say that I enjoyed all the acting, and am trying to think of where I've seen Imelda Staunton before. I'm convinced she was in Sense and Sensibility (the one with Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant). She played Mrs. Jenkins' daughter.
ps what changed your mind on Snape?? ;-) I still haven't winkled it out of my niece.

The way he was last night and that he was picked on by James Potter. I don't know I just think that he was really picked on bad and I just don't think he can be all bad when that happend to him. I think how he is now is a defense mechanism. Just some thoughts not sure if I am putting it into words correctly LOL.
Claudia you are the slogan queen from the books can you help me come up with a better signature line LOL.

The movie was great!!! Cheryle have you read the books? In the book that scene was so much more detailed than the movie. There was much more to Snape's memories than that! I can't wait for the book!!!
The question now is do you think Harry dies?
The today show is going to interview JK Rowling this week. I'll be watching.
I'm so happy I didn't have to wait till Saturday to watch it. LOL. I loved it, and I thought Umbridge was casted wonderfully! I hated her in the book and I hated her in the movie. It's so cool to see the Harry, Ron, Hermoine and all the kids all look so grown up.
I think after I finish my Marliss Melton book, I'm gonna go grab The Half Blood Prince for a re-read, so I can roll on to The Deathly Hallows w/out any problem. It's been so long....

I wish I had re-read the book before I went to the movie....but I still loved it. Now I can't wait for the new book. My son (who is 17) just started the first book again last night. He wants to re-read them all up to now and them read the last book. Not me I'm too impatient!

For me it was all the way back in Book 1, when he was officiating the Quidditch match and was furious to be accused of being partial.
I have a theroy that he was always in love with Lily Potter, and that is why he 'reformed' - sorry that his actions resulted in Lily's death at the hands of Tom Riddle, Jr. (Sorry, I refuse to give him the satsifaction of calling him LV).
I've been arguing the case with my niece since Book 1. She always says 'but Aunt Claudia Everybody Hates Him.' And I always think of Mr. Darcy. ;-) I think it's called 'Authorial misdirection'
OK. Now about one-liners - there are b'zillions to choose from! What a happy assignment. Here are a few:
Dark: "Come with me lass"
"You know how I hate talking to machines, Dageus'
"T'was naught but practice for the day I might please you."
Immortal: "Did you ever wonder, Gabrielle?"
DF: "Undead ****"
"And Ms. Lane ... Try to act like you like me."
"I see you've got a lot of friends here."
"Her mouth's usually too full."
"Petunia, Ms. Lane?"
"Malluce asshole -- and here I thought your last name was 'fashion nightmare.'"
"At least you didn't get yourself killed. Yet."
"You, Ms. Lane, are a menace to others. A walking, talking, catastrophe in pink."
"Now there's a visual for you."
I'll add more later. This is a fun assignment. ;-)

Claudia, Thanks for the Quotes you Rock as always. I love your theory on Snape it is wonderful. He seems so bad but then he turns around and does something good almost everytime. BTW I love Mr. Darcy!
Sheila, I have not read all the books but I have them, TBR pile is backed up. I am definately going to get to it when I get home though! Oh well sometimes it is better to watch the movie first that way you can not be disappointed.
Now I am off to pick one of the quotes the wonderful Claudia has given me. Because Pink can NO LONGER BE MY FAVORITE COLOR.

Yippee! I just got a note from Amazon, that my book was prepared for shipping today. They are supposed to deliver it to me on Saturday morning. Then, since my niece will have been up all night at the midnight party with her dad, I get to call her and gloat!
I imagine FedEx trucks zooming around the nation on Saturday morning, delivering books into eager people's hands. I wouldn't mind it if they showed up on Friday afternoon, either. But I guess there's no chance of that.
Anyway, I'm daydreaming about a little book, with little feet, making its way into my hands across the miles! :65:

I saw the movie, and I will say this. GO SEE THE IMAX VERSION!!!! It's awesome and well worth the few extra bucks
And yes, I really really developed a Gary Oldman crush after seeing him in this. He looked really sexy for some reason. Not as sexy in the other ones that I can remember, but he really really really looked hot! :D
Then again, I could just be desperate, because Snape looked hot, Lucius looked hot, Harry looked hot, Percy looked hot, Cedric looked hot in the pic....
*sigh* my. sex. life. sucks!

Ha! OK then. It's not just me! I have always thought that Daniel Radcliffe was seriously hot. But now that he is 18, I can say it out loud. I have always loved Alan Rickman!!!! Even with the oily black hair, he is still hot. OMG! Lucius is gorgeous! I actually liked Gary Oldman better in Prisoner. Especially the scene in the Shreaking Shack, but I've noticed that everybody seems to think he is very sexy in this one. hmmm.. Maybe I'll have to see the movie again. In IMAX this time!

Ice Queen and Claudia you are to funny! I am seriously going to have to go back and review these movies LOL!
Luscious Lucius :drool-vi:
But then...I have a thing for dirty pirates :anim_naughty-vi:
Lucious? Yeah.. he is kindof hot. He reminds me a bit too much of this overly vain (slightly gay) character from an anime called Fruits Basket though..
as for the book -- I am soooo a midnight release party girl. I have had my copy on hold for that night for a while now, and I am going to dress up and play with all the little kiddies at Barnes and Noble and plant a bean in a cup in "herbology class", and make a little magic wand at the crafts table and everything. Why? because I have fully embraced my dorkiness. Besides, my DH and friends think I'm nuts and won't go with me, so I may as well go whole hog on the cheesy kid's stuff factor.
Amie....not goofiness...sounds like lots of fun! Here is my daughter as Hermione last Halloween !

That is one of the Cutest Pictures! What a doll face. :-)
OMG your daughter is cutness magnified! Has she finished reading the book yet? I got my copy at midnight, but I was right in the middle of the BDB books and I didn't want to start in on Harry until I finished those. I finished them this afternoon (I cannot wait for V's story), so now I'm on to Harry as soon as I'm off of here.
