I just thought I'd share my beautiful week wth you ladies!:crying-vi:
The weather has been brutal, the summer camp kids have stressed me out to the point that the littlest thing now causes a migraine! And those migraine pills of mine I might as well think of them as smarties the way I have been popping them in my mouth!! My boss is away and left me incharge of any new registrations but didn't give me all the info I needed so I'm dealing with some very angry parents!! To make matter's worse I was attacked by a bull Mastiff!! My friend brought over her 6 month puppy (about 80 pounds) and while he was in my yard he started attacking my friend (the owner) and would not stop, when I stepped in to get him off of her he turned on me.. .back to her. .then me again. Finally from all the screaming my father came running out of the house and the dog was fine! We ended up putting the dog in my backyard so I could get my friend cleaned up (she took most of the bites!) as we went to go check on her puppy he attacked her again and once again I stepped it and got a few moere bites as well!! Finally my dad sprayed the dog with the hose to keep it away from everyone. OUCH!! is all I can say. Her dog was picked up by her b/f and taken to the vet. The vet explained that the puppy had very negative domninance issues towards females.(He gets rough with the female staff as well!) And that is my week so far!! Sorry to bore y'all but I needed to get the steam out! Wish me luck to get through another day !!:52:

Oh hun...I'm so sorry. Things will get better. Good luck with the kids. I know that there must be a special place for summer camp volunteers because of all of the things they have to deal with to make the camp memorable for the kids. I hope you and your friend heal quickly. I will be thinking of you.

Goodness that's terrible!

I hope you and your friend heal quickly from the dog bites. I own a 100lb "house" dog and what happened to you is NOT normal. I hope they seriously look at the dog before they release him. I would hate to see something worse happen....like to a child. :(

I'm soo sorry! I was attacked by a neighbor's dog when I was sixteen. I was running outside and the dog got loose and grabbed my leg and wouldn't let go. My dad had to grab a big peice of wood and hit the dog to get it off, and it still wouldn't let go!! Finally, the neighbor came out and got control of the dog. Come to find out, the neighbor plays tug a war with the dog using legs from dolls!! Serious issues, the neighbor not the dog! Anyway, I hope you both heal quickly and I hope things get better at work!! (((HUGS)))

Poor Ranj!! What a terrible week!! I too hope your heal quickly, and I hope your friend does not keep that dog. It sounds like it needs a special handler to control it. Just not safe to keep a dog that will attack you. As for the camp - you are assured a place in heaven after dealing with all this!! Kids can be wonderful - until you have to deal with angry parents!! Sounds like a vacation is just what you need - someplace quiet, with soothing tropical drinks brought to you by good looking cabana boys (or hunky highlanders), and NO KIDS!!

Wow, girl, Major {{{{HUGS}}}} I agree with everyone, that dog has some serious issues and needs to be contained and looked at. If it's doing that at 6mo, what would it do at a year and 170lbs? Cujo needs to be contained.

I have an 83lb golden retriever who is a house dog and I got her for her breed.

Oh, man. I hate to hear stories like this. Why can't all dogs be cute and cuddly? So sorry to hear about your attack and your friends. What is she going to do with the dog now?

Can I go too? I didn't have a horrible week - just a boring one, but I love soothing tropical drinks and hunky highlanders!:drool-vi:

Hey thanx for letting me blow some steam off . .I really needed it last week!!
My friend was gonna put the dog down but he is such a beautiful dog that bother her boyfriend and I talked her into giving him another chance!! ( I KNOW) I'm not crazy! I am just considering the fact that he is only 6 months old! We've both recovered from the attack but I love dogs and he's so young!! What my friend and her boyfriend are doing is going to a professional trainer (he trains military/Police dogs as well) they are spending $2500 and expect awesome results. One of the main points he told me friend is that when you give a dog a command , you never look him directly in the eyes as that is taken as a challenge. (Also never allow the dog to sit in your lap as that is also a dominance trait) Anyways since their first class she has seen an imporvement. I know a lot of you may think it's crazy but honestly when he was biting me he was not as rough as he could have been. If he really wanted to do major damage he definatley could have. . .I think with the training he'll really smarten up! Thanx for all the love!!

That's true. He is young enough to learn. He has to be considering how large he will be when full grown. My golden was such an easy dog to train. My 6 yr old granddaughter has taught her to get up on a tree stump and stay. It's almost like the lion and lion tamer scene. So funny to watch!:happy0194:

Debbie, you're going to have to take pictures of your golden sitting on the tree stump..
