I need some holiday cheer. I've been stuck in my house working too much. How about you all post pictures of your decorations and trees for me? I started at my blog (http://www.karenmariemoning.blogspot.com/). Bring on the merry!

Not the room I wanted to decorate, but Bagheera can't quite seem to grasp that everything in the house doesn't need to be climbed or eatten, so I have the tree in the office to seperate from the cat with a closed door when needed.

I don't have a lot of ornaments on my teeny tree (yet). Most of mine are from my childhood and I didn't want to cover the tree in Care Bears LOL (but my disney cats are on there, Chesh at the top of the tree with his golden bowtie, and Fluffy from Harry Potter is on there too, somewhere)

Bagheera stalks the tree daily.

I'll post as soon as I have a way to keep our puppy away long enough to put it up. Sasha likes to eat things...and not all of the things she eats are edible. So we must be careful.

Hi Karen, here's a picture of our Christmas tree. Love your tree, so beautiful. I can't wait for Shadowfever to come out!!! I just read all the fever series and now starting on the Highlander series again. I'll probably read the fever series again before Shadowfever comes out. I love your books!!!! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!!!

Thanks, Erin

I have a small "Purple Tree" in my Purple bedroom. I just LOVE it! ((MY favorite color is purple, if you couldn't tell) Here is a picture of the tree and some of my favorite ornaments.

This is the tree:

This is my Thistle ornament that I brought back with me from Scotland:

This is my favorite Cheshire Cat ornament:

Oh and I just love my Wizard that my mom bought me one year:
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h179/scribble14/Decorated%20images/DSCN0159.jpg

And this is my "Audrey Hepburn" ornament. It reminds me of the My Fair Lady movie and Breakfast at Tiffany's at the same time, and they are two of my favorite movies:
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h179/scribble14/Decorated%20images/DSCN0162.jpg

And this one gets the best spot on my tree each year. I got it from Biltmore house a few years back and just thinks it is the pretties raindeer ever:

If you look at all these pics and vids, grab the aspirin. At our house we love decorating for all the holidays. Even the snowpeople and little figurines have actual names. Lol! Eventually, I'll post more pics of the Christmas village on my blog.

We're still not sure if we're gonna put the garland on the stairs this year.

Our nativity and Franken-tree. The latter is so named because it's made up of parts from two, seven-foot-tall artificial trees. Enjoy. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Karen Marie! I saw the pics of your tree on your blog, and your tree is lovely.

Here are a few pictures of our tree. Every year, on Christmas Eve Eve, the girls and I go out for lunch and shop for Christmas ornaments. We each only buy one because they are expensive. When the girls are gone and have homes of their own, I will box-up their ornaments and give them to them. Some of the ornaments they have chosen over the years are, um, interesting, LOL!

I love looking at all of the pics of the trees! Talking to Karen this weekend inspired me, if she could find time to decorate so could I so I pulled my tree out yesterday and decorated. Luckily it's a small tree. I need a couple of individual ornaments since it's so fully of Christmas balls:) Once I do I'll post a pic. I think I want a pink or purple tree next year. They are awesome!

I'm loving these! But I need more...yes. I'm greedy...that's why I get along with all of you so well, LOL! If you don't have a tree, go take a picture of your neighbor's. I need Christimas pictures. I'm stuck in the studio all week and while the music is great in here, it's a dark cave and the guys don't decorate.

LOL I'm not really going to be home much so haven't decide if I am doing a tree. Work just put theirs up today. Is a little sparse on the ornament front but if I get time will take a pic.

Hmm add some tinsel and a couple of ornaments to the Machalo, will solve the dark cave and lack of decor issues LOL Maybe just wear it inside the studio though!

Okay, I made a collage of our tree (first time we've had a 'real' tree since this year I'm working from home and can watch over it) and some closeups of some of my favorite ornaments. I also including a mini image of a 'ribbon angel' that my mom made, although I put it in an arrangement with greenery and poinsettas, and it hangs on the inside of our front door; and a mini image of our stockings, which my mother made (she's very into sewing crafts, I missed that gene). Our tree is missing little gold ribbon bows that I couldn't find, and another ribbon angel made with gold ribbon that is usually our tree topper. I must have packed those away somewhere and now can't find them! I also didn't include some crocheted snowflakes that my mom made for me about 20 years ago, they are looking a little worn, lol. As you might guess, i love poinsettas!

These are wonderful! Is anyone surprised to hear Leiha has a lot of balls? LOL. Love the kitty (gorgeous eyes, she's clearly saying I suffer you to live, human), the gingerbread house, the poinsettas, all the trees! Glad to see more butterflies out there, they're a theme in the Fever series and I've been a obsessed with them. I keep thinking about it from the caterpillar's point of view and feel strongly it got the shaft. Not because it gets wings--that part's almost lovely, but because it goes through life with perfectly fine legs then one day is compelled beyond reason to cocoon itself, and I think it must be pretty sure it's dying, only to emerge with a whole new mode of locomotion that makes no sense. Goodbye sturdy legs, welcome fragile wings.

Keep the pictures coming. I love Christmas and I'm working more through this one than I wanted to, and your trees and decorations are my step outside my house/studio to go Christmas light touring. Thanks guys!!!!

Karen, I have been thinking about what you said here about the caterpillar's metamorphosis to a butterfly, and it brings to mind all of the amazing changes our Mac has gone through since the death of Alina, and the image of her having wings on the cover of Shadowfever. What a creature she is becoming!

Our tree and some others.
Our's is mostly lights, somehow during our move most of your ornaments went missing. I think the Christmas gremlins got them. :skeptical:

The other trees are some (there were a lot more but I'm a wuss when it comes to the cold) from the park. They're each sponsored by different people or businesses/organizations. It's a new contest the town is trying out. People vote for their favorite by putting non-perishable food under it and the most is the winner. The food collected will be going to the local food bank. :)

Guess which one is my favorite? :wwink: hehe

Well, I was out of town on vacation last week (I missed 2 weekends of shopping, including Black Friday - I'm so far behind, I probably won't recover lol). I have the inside decorated, but hubby was out of town the last couple days, so we couldn't get a tree or do the lights outside - which we may forgo this year (the lights, not the tree lol). Here are some pics of what I have up so far - enjoy

My nativity set, which I absolutely LOVE:

Our stockings - Those poor Carolina Panthers!

My ladder shelf with some knick knacks on it (and if you look close at the bottom, you can see my KMM books lol):

When the tree goes up, I'll post it as well

Jill, your house is really pretty!

BoI: I knew you'd have tons to share. hehe

You know me too well. Lol!

Sorry about losing your ornaments in the move. In this house, we're hopelessly addicted to the Christmas ornaments. If anything ever happens to even one of them, Mom and I will need therapy. Those ornaments are like pets almost. :snick: We really cherish them.

Jill, your house is really pretty!
Thank you! We did all the interiors ourselves (we took most of it down to the studs). My DH can do anything DIY-wise. I painted every square inch of it myself, and laid all the tiles in it. (I know how to use a wet saw :D )

We bought a house in dire need of TLC in a great neighborhood. We are very fortunate because we have some really sweet neighbors!

No Christmas stuff for us this year. :( We're renting right now but we close on our first home possibly Dec 28th! So yay that we'll move before the baby...but I still miss my tree.

I don't have much Christmas stuff at my place. My place is tiny. Renting a tiny apartment. Plus I'm going to spend the holidays with my family in California. It's going to be deck out. I do have something. I have a little tree.

Here it is.

Whoa. This is so close to my most recent horoscope I read, it's exciting! I read it and was so thrilled by the possibilities I shared it with everyone! It even had a bit about memory retention and the very miraculous process of such a complete transformation. It's amazing that's it tying into some Fever themes here, but not too surprising. Here it is for comparison:

"Taurus-Butterflies recall at least some of what they've learned during their time as caterpillars. The metamorphosis they go through is dramatic, turning their bodies into a soupy goo before remaking them into winged gliders. And yet they retain the gist of the lessons they mastered while in their earlier form. I see something comparable ahead for you in 2011, Taurus. It's as if you will undergo a kind of reincarnation without having to endure the inconvenience of actually dying. Like a butterfly, the wisdom you've earned in your old self will accompany you into your new life. Are you ready? The process begins soon."

I'm very excited and yes, ready!

We put up the tree yesterday, well, the kids did, I only set up the lights. The tree is one my aunt (she's passed) gave me the first time I moved out of my parent's house, some more than 15 years ago, and I've had it ever since, and I'll always will. Kids want a bigger one so eventually we'll get them the one they want, but this old battered one is going to stay with me all the way just the same. We'll have two trees.

It took me an 1 1/2 to download the rindtones to my phone so I don't know if I can get the picture to work. I've done it from a cd but never right from the camera but I'll try fro you Karen. Since we are out in the country we don't do much to our house outside but my parents live in town and there house is great so I'll get a pic of it to.

Same goes for Mom. :snick: She and Dad do all that work themselves, too - tile, floors, paint, countertops, cabinets and jacuzzi tubs - although she always had to force my father to do it. :skeptical: Also, she'd have to make sure he did it right because he never cared for quality work... which she does. He just wants it over with. Lol!

You have a wet saw? Does that mean you cut the tile, too? You cut and lay the tile? Did you grout it as well? You ARE AMAZING.:notworthy:

Oh, I'm decorating the tree today. Felt like listening to Turlough O'Carolan instead of Christmas music. Mannheim and Trans-Siberian Orchestra are in the latter part of the CD rotation, though.

Well, as I said in a thread before, this is the first time I make decorations on my own. It will be my first christmas alone also. But I have some good friends, so I think it will be enjoyable

Here are some pics I took on December 7th. In Colombia this is an important date. Because every house takes out candels to iluminate a path (many use things call "Faroles" that have candels inside). We do this for the Virgin Mary. To iluminate her way into our homes. I hope you like what I did with the place...

Justary, your lighted greenery is beautiful and your lighted path is very inviting. Your golden tree with (magnolias?) is beautiful.

Dansgirl1, I prefer faux; pre-lit faux for that matter. Hubby prefers real. Stringing lights and hanging ornaments left me with sticky, sap stained fingers. The frasier fir branches are soft and flimsy. I hold my breath when I hang an ornament hoping it will remain on the tree and not slip off when the branch bends. Faux tree good; real tree PIA.

Your nephew was a pretty advanced 9 yr. old. He did a great job! The star is perfectly formed with wire. The Christmas Greenery looks meticulously placed. One question: when you state that it plays 25 Christmas carols do you mean the bells are automated or do you manually ring the bells to play Christmas carols?

No, Deb...each individual bell rings when it is the correct time...don't know how else to explain it but it does go thru 25 different carrols, each bell ringing individually...and yeah he was and still is advanced...he works on Mecury boat motors now and is a Master Mechanic...can you tell i'm pretty proud of him???...bap

Okay, I finally got out my holiday decorations. We only have a small tabletop tree, cause space is limited and all the kids are grown. Sorry, the pictures were taken on my camera phone, so it's not that sharp.

My tree has small glass ornaments, glass candy canes that are actually cocktail swizzle sticks, hard candy made from glass and some crystal icicles. I usually have a dozen Swarvorski snowflake crystals that I put on my tree every year, but I have no idea where they walked off to. So sad .... I miss my bling! It's the first time in 25 or so years that the snowflakes have not graced my tree. *sniff*

17277

What I do have are these two favorite ornaments that light up and gradually changes colors. This one has the manger scene,

The other is an angel blowing the trumpet. ( I love angels!) You can see the glass candy cane in this pic.

My small collection of nutcrackers. These are on my mom's piano. Here are the sentry guard, Clara, the prince, Lion from Oz, the mouse king and one of the wise men. The small tree was a gift and made by the one of my friend's cousin.

17278

More nutcrackers atop the T.V. Another sentry guard and a fireman. I also have this year's Singing Snowman/Jingle Pals display from Hallmark. I took the other three from previous years to the office, along with my mini tree. I'll try to take some pics of them tomorrow.

This is the final product of a long and drawn out Christmas Decorating 2010. This is my second tree and 4th time decorating this year.

I'm one of those over-eager types that adores Christmas. So every year, as soon as Thanksgiving dinner is done, I start dragging out all of my Christmas stuff. That Sunday after Thanksgiving is usually when my long-suffering but loving husband takes me up to our family cabin an hour out of town to cut a tree. He does his best to indulge my childish delight in winter holidays. However, the snow put the kebash on that this year so we couldn't use our Xmas tree permit (my husband tells everyone that it's only fitting since he didn't fill his deer tag this year, why should he fill his tree tag...anyway, I digress). Instead, against our better judgement, we bought a tree.

We did this once before and the sucker turned brown two weeks before Xmas, so we swore we wouldn't do it again. But, seeing my disappointment in not getting the huge live tree I have every year, hubby convinced me that he would buy me a tree to make me happy. So we picked out a 7.5 footer, hauled it home, and began the most frustrating tree decorating of my life. Three times I had to put the lights on and off the tree because they kept going out and no matter what I did I couldn't fix them (Walmart got tired of seeing me coming with my busted strands of lights). I finally got a set that worked, decorated the tree and thought I had 'er licked.

Wrong. First, our youngest German Shorthair has never been through a Christmas season and despite being named Holly has no respect for Christmas decor. She busted several ornaments before we finally caught her and got her to stop. Second, the tree started crisping up a week in, and I noticed it started to lean in the stand. I asked hubby to help me straighten it but we never got the chance until finally this Monday we came home to find to find the giant had been felled. It was laying in a sad heap on top of broken ornaments. I told hubby, that's it, I've had it, the tree goes. We just won't have one this year. Knowing how much I love my trees, however, my husband cleaned up the entire mess while I was at work, tossed the tree in the back yard and as soon as I got home took me out to buy a FAKE tree for years like this when I can't cut my own. lol. I love that man. So, that is my tale of Christmas Cheer. It took me a while, but I am finally enjoying my tree.

Merry Christmas everyone, and a very happy, FEVER-filled New Year!

Jill

Finally have had time to take some pics! Been so busy :) Obviously, I love angels LOL The blue ones I got from my sister's gift shop and the lace one I got from a craft fair. The ornament with the little Dutch girl is from my mom. It is Delft blue which she loves (as well as me and my sisters) because she is Dutch. My tree is leaning and only partially decorated because of our new kitten who insists on either climbing the tree or jumping up and batting at the branches; on one side!
The town we just set up this year; we got more houses last year after the sales ;)

Here is my House mostly decced out for Chrismtas. I know, mines late too, my computers are ticken me off!

We get a new Christmas Village piece every year, it's kind of a tradition in my family now. We have more than this, I just didn't want to bore you all to tears with them all!

This little snowman is older than me! My nana made all these ornaments before I was born for her tree, they were all edible. Once I got married she passed them all down to me, so these darn little snowmen are sentimental! and yes, they are made out of marshmallows, They're still soft after 30+ years

This is one of my Scentsy pots that I love. It's so pretty in a dark room!

I have to share Mom's glitter house. It's the very first one that she's ever made:

BWI: Your mom did a good job. I bought a glitter house and I can tell you her's is just as good as the one I bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Thanks! I'll be sure to tell Mom that. She's really loving the glitter houses right now, and will continue to make more for all the holidays. Making one for Halloween should be a blast!

These are some of the ornaments on my tree.
I collect angels.
The red-green fabric ones are at the bottom for the cats. They were leftover from the birdseed pkts at my wedding 21 yrs ago (Dec 16). My Mom made them along with a tree skirt.

WhitBit your house and tree are so pretty! A couple of those pics look like something out of a magazine, and I adore your animals! I wish I had gotten something like that for our three kitties, although I don't know how well that would have gone over with them.

Thanks! My mom decorated the tree so I won't take credit for that, but I decorated the pets! :wlaugh: I could only get two of my cats to participate. My calico cat was not having that bow AT ALL! lol.

Thank you! Zeus is such a ham! He LOVES having his picture taken! Your Maddie looks so sweet, and fluffy! I love fluffy pets if you can't tell

Thanks you! Zeus was the only willing participant. My cats were highly annoyed with me because I woke one up and I chased the other one down outside. My third cat bolted and hid. LOL

Ok, well I do know that these are very late... but Christmas at the office was fun fun fun!
I won 1st and 3rd prize in the door decorating contest, but I decorated the entire building... with only paper and giftwrap LOL

We have an annual Christmas party for the kiddies, and they LOVED the board room doors!
