note #1: I'm at a conference in San Francisco, and every day now I have to walk down Ellis street to get from the hotel to the convention center. And I can't help but remember what JB said to 'Ellis' at Casa Blanc - You act like we came from the same gene pool - we didn't ... or words to that effect. (smirk!) [you know - I can't wait to find out what that remark means!]
note #2: I was in Neiman Marcus today, and finally saw a 'Juicy' purse for the first time. I was like - Damn Mac - you go girl! These purses are expensive! Now I understand why you were mad that the Grey Man got goo all over it! Now I understand that you had to save up all summer to get it. (smile) Now I've got an idea of what the dimensions of the purse are - it's pretty small! Just large enough for a spear.
Claudia, it's amazing what will trigger thoughts of books we've read (or maybe in your case, inspire you in what you write). San Fran is certainly full of interesting sights and people.
I've seen the Juicy purse in catalogs, definitely cute, but WAAAY out of my price range these days (having kids sort of blows the personal budget). And it's not hard to imagine JB in a city like San Fran - especially at night, with the fog rolling in along the wharf, or standing on Alcatraz, looking out across the bay, can definitely picture him there as if surveying his domain. Or if not on that island, he would have to have a splendid home high on a hill where he could be at the edge of the world (almost feels that way, some of those hills are so steep).

Wow! what a cool image! Thanks for sharing that. Now I'll be looking for JB in some of these dark alleys I walk past in beautiful, ecclectic, downtown! San Francisco is one of my favorite cities in the whole world. I am sooo ready to see JZB here! ;-)
ps the downtown is very festive with holiday decorations and lights everywhere. Everyone out late at night walking around. Shopping, shopping, shopping! It's a great time of year to be in a city like SF. It reminds me of New York.

Claudia, have you gone to Ghiradelli square and gotten your Irish coffee yet? There's a restaurant in there that claims to be the one that invented it. Don't know about that, but would be a good place to dream of JZB drinking IRish coffee... having to lick that whipped cream off the top lip... :th_anim_naughty-vi:
New York is one of my favorite places at Christmas time. The lights, the cold air, the shops, the pace... so much fun!
Enjoy your stay in the city by the bay....

I got to the dictionary okay, so the addy is fine. Just didn't recognize your word. Oh well, maybe spelling's not your strong suit!!
