I have been re-enlightened, if there is such a thing!I was wondering if any of you had read the last few pages of Spell lately.........start with page 300, i just finished Spell again, it is only about a page and a half of reading, it IS the end of the book. It says so much about the Fever series, in so little words, it is AMAZING!!! How did I not notice this before?????? And if you think about it, how many of us went back and re-read Spell directly prior to reading Darkfever? Who would have thought to do that? I didn't because I thought it would be an entirely NEW series w/o our Highlanders. I think Karen was counting on us not catching that right away........YOU HAVE GOT TO GO BACK AND READ THOSE LAST FEW PAGES. It is so clear, it tells the future in itself!!!!
It also says in there, third paragraph from the bottom of page 300, " She (the Queen) had been employing a mortal form so much of late that she was beginning to mimic their expressions" WHAT mortal form, WHO has the QUEEN been pretending to be? And she chastised Adam for meddling? What gall! THEN......she says on the next page she positioned the five most powerful Druids that had ever lived precisely where she wanted them. Three of them are Dageus, Cian, and Drustan.........WHO ARE THE OTHER TWO DRUIDS OF THE FIVE????????? JB??????? Is he one afterall???????? It says as for her other two chosen, she would be seeing them soon......WOW..........:th_thud::th_thud::th_thud: :th_thud:
AND...........I forgot to add this little tidbit......The queen says she regretted making Adam mortal.........and that she had thought about undoing that...........WHAT THE HEKK!! I didn't think that was possibe either, it looks like we are finding out more and more, what we thought was impossible is not only possible, but PROBABLE as well!!!!!!!

Okay!!! Can't wait for the feedback!!!! Hurry up and sleep Bella!!!:cutenap-vi:
Aedan MacKinnon is one of the druids. The queen directly altered the flow of his d*mnation in the unseelie underworld. She sent Jane Sillee. The cat I think was Darroc spying on the queen. Not much is told of Aedan's life prior to his emprisonment except a few flashbacks of his sister & recollection of the evil man coming to his parents house.
So, That leaves two others.
JB/D*MNED/FAE/ also druid ? Possible.
How 'bout Sidheach James Lyon Douglas,Third Earl of Dalkeith ?
Last page of MIST, "Remember this mortal-you have your own kind of forever-immortality of love. BLESSED BE THE DOUGLAS. Aoibheal, Queen of the Fae. So, DID she pick Hawk then ? OR...
So, who will it be ?
JB?
HAWK?
Aoibheal. Looks through human eyes...Alina is 'dead'. How hard would it be for a fae to assume someone that's gone ? Will the queen's ego allow her to choose The eldest sister ? Or the one that looks like BARBIE ?!!
ANY other interpretations ?

WOW Jo!!!!!!!!! You always take it a step farther!!!!! How do you interpret all of this? All of this thinking makes my head hurt!!!!!
Ooooo....if the queen could do that she would be even more feared than I imagined.....that is just creepy!!!! Would that explain the 'figure' which Alina refuses to see? :33:Kinda like when you, Michelle, and I were talking the other nite about her seeing her sister in the mirror, or seeing her in her 'undead' form? Okay Jo, maybe we should head on over to the Bat channel and begin filming our first episode.........:happy0194:

OK so some of what Jennifer has written I remember, about Cian, Dageus and Drustan. I totally forgot about the Queen taking Mortal form, Hmmm I wonder who she is.
I think JB maybe the one Druid as Jo said. I think when the queen was talking to Hawk about his immortalility she was talking about love and children that is our own piece of immortaility the piece that keeps on living once we are gone.

You guys are funny! I'm not going to comment on the cowl, bat-girl thing.
Yeah - I guess I always believed JB to be one of the Druids that the Queen referrs to at the end of SPELL. I firmly believe that JB is one of the 5. I also think he is cursed. So I'm wondering if he is one of those Druids, like the 13 that pestered Dageus, who reached for too much power and were slapped down. A Druid who had a lot of knowledge of the Fae, and maybe wanted more. anyway, I'm sure we'll find out more about JB's origins. But my vote is that he is a cursed, ancient, Druid.
Maybe JB is the one that is referred to, on Page 2 of SPELL, who was searching Tibet for the Dark Book. Did you notice on Page 2 of SPELL that there is more to think about? Don't you think that the 'thief casing a wealthy joint' in London might be Darroc? I used to think that referrence was to JB, and the referrence to an ancient sorcerer in Tibet was someone else - maybe the 5th Druid. Because JB says in DF that right after Lucan died, he had this hacker standing by for the internet auction - implying that he was in Europe at the time. But now I've changed my mind. I think the thief is Darroc and the ancient Druid is JB.
BTW - *Jo*, that V-- thing you did so much research on is supposed to be a Druid who was cursed into a wolf-beast. And I think you hit the jackpot. So if you turn out to be right, we'll have to talk Leiha into coming up with a prize for you.
Cheryle believes that Queen Abby has been masquerading as The Old Lady (Rowena) at the bar and in the Museum who keeps rapping Mac on the head. I used to not agree with Cheryle, but I'm starting to agree the more I read about Queen Abby in the Highlander books. (I think that Queen Abby was the 'cat' in Into The Dreaming). I"m sure Cheryle will weigh in shortly on this. ;-)
ps - really good sleuthing, Jennifer!!! And Jo too. who expected KMM to have buried all these clues in the Highlander books?

I agree with you on this, Cheryle. I think neither the Mackinnon's nor the Douglases have any Druid qualities to them. I don't think that KMM was hinting that their lines were going to be involved in the Fever Series. She was not as clear about that as she was about the MacKeltars.

just think - if Cheryle were right, and Queen Abby is Rowena, then what is the true relationship between V'Lane and Queen Abby? Rowena seemed pretty shocked at V'Lane's behaviour in the museum, and at Mac's fiesty response. Was her reaction one of a Fae Queen shocked at one of her princes being held off by a human, one who she was supposedly allied with, or was it one of a Fae Queen watching a human fend off an Unseelie Prince? One she wasn't allied with? One who had nefarious designs on Mac, but that she couldn't stop or risk revealing herself. Read that Museum section again. ;-)

Ok all of your thoughts created one in my head and i cant seem to get rid of it so now you all get to hear it...I think that the Queen might have taken the mortal form of the old lady that Mac saw at the bar and then again outside of the musem.... That would explain why she knew so much about her and her real family....

I think you're right...Abby's too vain to show up as an old woman. ALSO, I think that the sidhe-seers would be a fairly secretive group (even if they weren't hiding from the Hunters) and if someone wasn't from a family they recognized...they would be loath to admit them entrance into their little secretive circle. If this old woman is trying to get Mac to join up with the other sidhe-seers, I don't think they'd let Mac OR the old woman in unless she is someone they've know for a LONG time! Does this make any sense? Or am I just rambling incoherently here?

Yes. what you're saying does make a lot of sense. It is the major flaw with the idea of the Queen masquerading as the Old Woman.

OK. I have to change my mind (yet again) about the Ancient Druid (from page 2 of Spell) being JB. I forgot something important.
When Queen Abby makes that comment, it is just after she cursed Adam to be 'human' - that is it takes place at the end of Dark and start of Immortal. Darroc wasn't human yet. (that happens about 90 days later). So I'm back to thinking that the thief might have been JB.
I had noticed that when last I read Spell. .but for some reason I thought we may see Circenn again rather than Hawk because of his skills of sifting time and knowledge of other spells.
You ladies make some interesting arguments though, I can't wait to see who our suprise druid turns out to be.

Soooo....is the queen the dark figure that Mac refuses to see?
There's a whole Dark Figure discussion thread in the BF section - **spoiler alert**
Kelli Jo was good enough to post some lines from the booklet on the Dark Figure:
The figure was described as:
A tall, black shrouded figure. Folds of midnight cloth rustling in the wind.
There's something about the way this figure is described that makes it sound male.
We should probably switch this discussion over to that thread if we want to say more. There are lots more good thoughts in that thread about what the Dark Figure is.

No, actually it is a great & logical point to me...
Yes Queen Abby is very vain she would not be old woman
As for her being the Cat into the dreaming it was the cat that alerted jane her back went up and she started to hiss.

...PER Aedan of INTO the Dreaming, cats hate fae and are sensitive to their invisiblilty whereas a human is not.
Tiger cat,SEXPOT, which would be yellow-gold white striped, clear gold eyes...I think it might be human Darroc, copper hair & gold eyes now that he's human, cursed by Mael his accomplice in crime in the fae court. It never says what punishment Mael is given, and HE could have spelled a human into a cat. Darroc hates the queen with a passion to begin with over the COMPACT with the humans to begin with & then she curses him human. Where else could Darroc keep his eye on the queen and be no cause of concern than to be a lowly, harmless, cuddly animal ?!

That's right! I had posted that in another thread a week or two ago. This was what I wrote then in the Barrons thread...
Here's another idea, it may have been mentioned but I don't remember seeing it.
Could JB be one of the five most powerful Druids that Alibheal mentions in Spell? She said she had positioned the most powerful five where she wanted them.. So far that we know of there are Drustan, Dageus and Cian. Unless we have to wait for future Highlander novels but the way things are getting very serious in the Fever books between the Seelie and UnSeelie I doubt it! I am thinking that JB could be one of the five. She called this group "Her players, her pieces on the board. More than pawns, less than kings."
I've been moving so I haven't had time to get on lately. I had re-read Spell and saw that too. That's why I had asked about the other remaining two. :03:

I actually hope JB is a ancient druid... but remember this from the FAQ..
Q. Will we see the MacKeltars again?
A. Yes. In fact, you'll see a few you recognize as the FEVER series unfolds, and in the next installment, BLOODFEVER, you'll meet a new one.
Why wouldn't the "new" one not be a druid? I can't wait to read about a new MacKeltar!
So maybe JB can be the 4th, and the new MacKeltar the 5th? The five that get my vote, Drustan, Dageus, Cian, .. then JB and the new MacKeltar!:2v-vi:

I'm new to the community but I love KMMs novels. Nowthe Queen told Adam before she changed him to human that that it can never be undone. But I'll take your word for it and go back and read page 300.

I didn't think that was possibe either, it looks like we are finding out more and more, what we thought was impossible is not only possible, but PROBABLE as well!!!!!!![/QUOTE]
I also thought it was interesting that the Queen said she could undo Adam's change from fae to mortal. Because when she turned Darroc into a mortal she said it couldn't be undone.
But, I remembered that another reason for Adam Black to come back to help the Queen would be that they need more sidhe-seers, as JB said that there are more sidheseers at the end of Spell. Adam Black destroyed the page in the O'Callahan Book of Fae that listed all the family names of the sidhe-seers that were known. So, don't you think he is the man to go to if the Queen wants to get more sidhe-seers, as well as Gabrielle is one too? Therefore, the Queen is going to bring him back with some power as well? Just thinking......

It tears me apart thinking whether I want Adam to come back with his Fae powers or not. I sort of want to see Adam confront a human Darroc, as a human himself, and deal with him. But I think the Queen is going to need all the powers she can get her hands on, so I think, like you say, she'll try to return Adam to his Fae self.

I do think there is a possibility that the queen would go ahead and return Adam to Fae form........but knowing how he loves his life and family, I am sure that it would only be temporary, and at the end of the series, all wrongs would be righted, and in doing so, Adam would be returned to his mortal life....:03:

Perhaps when Aiobheal thinks of bringing Adam back, it's not as Fae but just bringing him back into the whole mess - the politics and intrigues of the Court and all. The fact that Darroc - his long-time nemesis - is also human would level the playing field between them. And of course, Darroc would love to opportunity to gt back at the one who was responsible for stripping him of his powers.
I doubt she would try to bring him back as Fae - she says she can't do it and I don't see anything that would make Adam will risk losing his new-found immortal soul.
But I forgot the part about him having read the list of sidhe-seers before he destroyed the page - that would make him invaluable (as Mac says, they will need a lot more sidhe-seers for the upcoming battle). It has to be significant - as Hitchcock says, the gun on the wall always fires.
We know Dageus, Drustan and Cian will be back...Adam too...?
Can't wait 'til October and beyond!

Maybe the Queen did something different when she turned Adam into a mortal that will make it easier to make him back into a fae, or maybe the Queen was lying about the change being permanent. Also, it takes a long time for someone who becomes immortal to lose their soul, therefore, Adam may be willing to come back as a fae to help the Queen as long as he can return to his mortal form afterwards.

Kathy Jo you are probably right. The Queen sure did have a soft spot for Adam, maybe she could not bear to have him completely human, but what about the glow in the end. Ahhh the torture of not knowing!

I don't think that Adam would lose his glow because Adam said in Immortal Highlander that he could still see the glow of Circenn's and Lisa's souls after all these years, but that they were getting dimmer. So, his glow should be fine for a short time, especially if Circenn could keep his soul intact for hundreds of years. (Unless you're talking about another type of glow, and I'm misunderstanding?) :33:

I think that's a really good point, Kathy Jo. Queen Abby has lied about things before. (She hides stuff - she doesn't tell all she knows). I get the feeling she lied about the change being permanent. But - if Adam can become Fae again, you're right. He wouldn't loose his soul right away. cool.
she probably didn't want him coming around every few decades going - now I want to be Fae - now I want to be human again - now I want to be Fae - like a little kid.

TOO many posts too fast, see the other thread on the same topic.. This should have gone there, but I read this one first!!!
Karen writes that we will see a FEW MacKeltars. New and Old. So this new one can be a Druid. But what happens if the series goes along and she adds the other Druid from another family/group.
And if JB is a Druid would he be a leader? Remember he told Mac "I work alone"
But for some reason this to me just does not add up. Yes, JB can be a Druid do to all these facts & theories you guys back it up with, but my gut is telling me he is not.
Feel free to reply to this, but be nice
Bet not...:03:
HERE's why:
I believe Adam will be back, as a mortal because of his wife Gabby(sidhe- seer). The queen cannot and will not reverse the spell.
Re - read ***SPELL OF THE HIGHLANDER*** page #302 starting , "THOUGH THE LOSS...".
AND I will note that THIS was the shortest VERSION I have ever written ....Right Ladies ?!!!:th_read::th_manydancingbanan:th_type::51:

Although I think it's probably a long shot that the Queen will bring Adam back as a fae, (I reread pg. 302 again), I think that she will definitely need him to deal with Darroc, as well as to find all the sidhe-seers. (Adam does always have the Queens back, so there's no telling what the Queen will do, if she feels she needs her most trusted allie.)
I think it will be even more interesting if Adam meets up with Darroc as mortal to mortal.
I do have to wonder if Darroc is working in the Dark Arts in order to be leading the Unseelie over to Earth? Or is it just his extensive knowledge of the reading of ruins and "how to get it done" that got him the job? Therefore, how will Adam deal with this new and stronger Darroc, if they do meet as mortals?

I'm thinking about Darroc now! If i'm not mistaken in Immortal he is the one who tells (I cant remember his name, the one who traped Cian in the mirror.) That he knows where the unsillie are.... In Immortal it said that each thing holds its own power like the mirror holds you immortal. Maybe he got hold of one of them and thats why he has so much current power??? I dont really know just bouncing some ideas off of you guys!!!

HI Miss Lulu!!
I don't mean to shot you down. I just want to offer some observations.
I don't think that having the 5 Druids positioned just as she wants them means that the Queen has formed a sort of posse. I don't see any reason for JB to be part of a team to still be one of the 5 most powerful Druids that every lived - currently living at a time when the Queen needs him to be there.
Also - are you saying that you don't believe JB to be a Druid at all? You may be right, but I'd like to suggest there are several pieces of evidence that JB is a Druid. One of them is that he 'ordered' Mac to go to sleep (as if he used the Voice on her), and that her arm healed so fast under his care, He 'spoke words over her,' remember? Remember when he said he'd have more effective means of getting information out of her than tying her up? "Have no doubt of that." There are more concrete pieces of evidence, I believe, in the Booklet - which I won't talk about here. If you are going to get a copy of the booklet, then I'll hold on to my ideas about that, and pose those suggestions later.

Yes I know this .... I have read almost all the posts on Fever series. Someone(forgot name, maybe Jo?) Posted a list of the five Druids. She had listed JB as one. I know he fits the bill for a Druid, but that would be to easy for KMM to put out there.
I was truely thinking crazy(I have been studying for 7 finals) that maybe he could be the Dark Unseelie King? His son? (probably not) Is curse probably takes away the affect of a Null, so that why Mac can touch him.
But has anyone thought that maybe Mac controls who she wishes to freeze?

Great idea!! Never thought of that one. Awesome idea.
Also - I do like the idea of JB not being one of the 5. I sorta would love to see more Druids. Yes - MORE. MORE! ;-) I'd like KMM to surprise us. I guess I'm just thinking that JB is a main character of this series, so why wouldn't he play a big role? But that's sort of cheating. Not letting the story tell itself. I suppose sitting back and waiting to see what comes next is what we have to do - but the wait is really hard!
