I'm about 2/3 through the audio book and I'm just not loving it. Normally, when I listen to a book, I take the long way while driving, or I just drive around at lunchtime to hear what happens next. God--even after the second and third listens of the Highlander books, I'm still like that. Not the case here. Is the last part of the book going to grab me and shake me into loving it? I really hope so!

Dunno about the audio book (I've heard some people really disliked the reader's voice, so it might be that you're having trouble with) but the actual book gets much better. Yes, the beginning's a little slow to pick up something that grabs at you, IMO.

I'm really, really into audio books, so I have a lot of forgiveness for them. In fact, I've listened to some that I've realized I'd never have gotten through if I had to read it.

I'm hoping you're right and that it does pull me in. I see everyone else here loving it so much!

I never hear audio books--I read the books on my own, so I don't know how the audio version is, but the book is great since the beginning and if you don't like it until now, I don't think that you're going to love it at the end. But maybe you like it in the end. I don't know.

I love the audio version of these books, DF & BF. I am a big fan of audio books in general. Even so, I have heard enough stinkers to know that it is now always a positive experience. I know there are readers out there who don't really get the job done. I'll also admit that for the first few chapters, Mac v 1.0 really got on my nerves and at one point I was ready to throw my discs out of the window. (I was on a long drive to San Francisco). But it was JB that kept me in the story. I love JB, and I really REALLY love the way this reader renders JB. I think he is very sexy, I kept going to hear what he was going to do. He was an 'asshole' in the best sense of ht word (meaning a strong individual, not easy to push around), and a funny man. I fell in love with him.

So I can't say why you aren't enjoying the audio book now. Everyone has a different experience. I only hope that it grows on you and you have a positive experience by the end of the book. good luck!

ps I absolutely LOVE your siggy with Rafa!! Whoo Hoo! I'm using him as my model for JZB. (well, not on the siggy that I have right now, but on other ones).

Wanted to say that by the end of the book, I was into it. Not stop-my-world-take-the-long-way-so-I can-listen-to-it into it, but I definitely want to know what happens next.

I think the fact that Mac somehow managed to get JB to polish her nails for her went a long way to endearing him to me.

Thanks for the help!
