My first thought for JB was Collin Ferrell. :anim_headbang-vi::th_thud: Definitely has good looks and that Bad to the Bone attitude and doesn't give a sh*t if anybody likes it, but I'm not 100%. Brad Pitt would be my V'lane; I would follow that man to the ends of the earth if he would just promise me one week (and don't discuss politics). My other pick would be one of the guys in the thread that had the Asian & Indian guys in it. The number 2 & especially the #3 guy would do just fine!!! :65: They have that tawny gold skin coloring and the dark good looks!

Didn't know who Paul Walker was until I saw his pic. :p He was in Timeline with Gerry. I think Paul Walker would be a good candidate b/c of the eyes, but he would HAVE to grow his hair out like Jason Lewis in that pic.

I don't think V'Lane would be as difficult a character to cast as JB. I'm thinking it'd be easier to cast potential actors for that role b/c - let's face it - V'Lane just has to look and sound HOT for all the Moning Maniacs to pant over. :drool-vi: JB on the other hand has do that and more, so the actor who portrays him would have to really dive into the role. (And I think GB would naturally relate to JB's character anyway).

Ha! I know what you mean. :D I think it's because Gerry IS those men. He seems to be sooo much like these characters in real life. (From what he shows us, that is, and from the types of roles he takes on. He loves those passionate characters with tortured souls, and he has said he chooses roles he can relate to). I can see him as Dageus, too. Even Grimm, I think.

But JB is right down his alley.

There is another Scottish actor that played alongside him in Beowulf, Rory McCann...that could play them as well but he has yet to develop that emotional range I think that GB has...I dont' know...RM hasn't been in a lot...the only stand out was his portrayl of Peter the Great for BBC...and he had this long black hair...See here (http://www.hamiltonhodell.co.uk/page.asp?partid=43)... he was the Scottish Oats man in their commercial....and at 6'6' wow...I saw him once in George Square during the summer after working on Beowulf....and he could definitely fit a MacKelter meld....

I actually didn't know his name but I remember seeing him in the Street Fighter movie lol. (I was really young back then)
He played a character name Vega who was long, lean with long hair and really vain.

I'm new to the board, but hope you won't mind if I jump in. I just finished the book this morning and I don't have the second book yet, but here goes.

JB - There are two guys that come to mind for me.
Steve Bacic - Rhade on Andromeda. He has the physicality of JB along with the dark eyes. He can play intense and mysterious really well.

Oded Fehr - Ardeth Bay in the Mummy. He has everything Steve has plus already having a very sexy, unusual accent.

V'lane
Matthew McConaughey - He has such a strong charisma and he matches V'lane's physical description. He can play the assuredness of the character that he can make you disrobe. He would have to loose the southern to his accent.

I'm sorry, but the Dark Lord's name escapes me. However, I had the strangest person pop into my head for him. Don't laugh, but the WWE Wrestler Triple H came to mind.

Honestly, I don't know if I'd watch a movie version of this series. They'd probably ruin the whole movie, including the characters' images. I love how they are in my imagination and to be honest with you, I can't find actors good enough with how I imagine them.

I've seen many books get turned into movies and I really don't like it.

That would be really hard. People tend to add **** out of no where, or leave out really important scenes, which ruins the whole story line. Me, being a Harry Potter fan, would know all about that.

The movie is a completely different art form than the book. As long as the author approves, I am fine with a move adaption since I am clear that the best version is what I imagined in my mind's eye. As a huge HP fan, I enjoy the movies immensely and cherish the books deeply. There have been many a flick where I was displeased with the adaptation but that hasn't been the case with HP. I'm in it for the eyecandy and escape. The books are way too dense to translate into a less than 3-hour movie. That said, I'm not sure about KMM's books being made into film. I like them as they are now but if they were translated and Karen was closely involved, I would delight in the new iteration of KMM's work. It would be nice to see all the sexiness on screen...

And about Harry Potter. Well, I wasn't pleased with the movies. The first 2 were good, but the rest went down hill. I understand they had to cut a lot out, but they added very pointless stuff that really didn't need to be in there and then there were parts that could've been shorter.

I know it would be very different for the FEVER series because the books are small, but if they put it on screen, would they put it all into one movie, or into 5? That would make a load of difference.

I am a HUGE book fan...and as such, the only movie adaptations that I didn't find much to complain about were the LOTR movies....but that's because Peter Jackson wasn't just a director, he was a huge fan of the books himself. As for the HP movies...well...as a HUGE fan from BEFORE there were even rumors of the movies, I must say I was disappointed. And I continued to be disappointed. Then, I decided to pretend that I hadn't read the books while watching the movies. That helps. But even still...I always had my own ideas of what Hogwarts looked like, and the characters...and the directors didn't share my vision, lol. Honestly, I'm not sure if any or all of the directors ever read the books. I know some of the actors haven't. If someone were to make movies out of any of KMM's books, I think she would have to get a director and screenwriter who were as huge of fans of the books as we are. Then we'd know that they would try to stick as close to the books as possible.

It's nice to see what everyone has in mind, I just finished reading this thread. I wanted to see if anyone had the same ideas as me for JB and V'lane. Nearing the end Nathan Kamp was mentioned, I had him in mind but wasn't sure until I seen those pics that were posted of him. He is a great match me thinks! :happy0158: :drool-vi: I was speaking with my friend about some of the main people that have been mentioned such as GB and AP. She thought they were too old and stated that AP was her age, we both imagined someone in their 30's, I'm thinking about 35 or so. I look forward to seeing Nathan's movie and think that he will be able to prove himself worthy for a role as JB. :th_nod:

As for V'lane, I had the image of Orlando Bloom as Legolas in LOTR in my mind as well (minus the elf ears). He would do to me what he does to Mac! :65:

I've always been a fan of movies and since living in Hollywood I go to them a lot. I am very critical on whats being put out there these days. I've taken more of a liking to indie films, they have more leg room and allow the movie to be more of what it's suppose to be. My husband is a writer and has a few screenplays completed. His first one he'd like to be a major part of and he'd make it independantly. He's also an actor and I think he'd make a good V'lane as well. Unfortunatly I can't show him to you at this time (he has good headshots but he would probably be mad if I shared them with you). :(

Most books are great just the way the are and need to be left alone and not made into movies. It does ruin them because when you're reading it's a vision of your own. If they are made into a movie the person who's behind the film will create what they see and ruin a lot of your own ideas. This is a reason I have come to like books more than movies lately, they allow you to think and see what you want more freely. It's always fun to think about who might play what though! :D

Yes too true...I don't know about the HP thing, but too true on the rest of it. I adored Haldir. That first pic I posted is my laptop pic....I stare at it for at least five minutes every time I boot it up...or his mouth anyway :drool-vi::drool-vi:

I agree that Orlando is a little on the smaller scale but the character of V'lane needs to look a little bit more on the younger side and I think it fits him well. Craig Parker is a fair choice but he just doesn't do it for me.

I am going to butt in here and say that I always picture V'Lane as muscular in the way of a swimmer or a track athlete. Beautifully muscled, but not bulked. The fae to me just seem to be too elegant to be all "body builder", so for that reason Orlando would work. (Even though I think he is too young and IMO kinda girly - sorry.)

I can try. My color replacemet tool is fickle. It doesn't like to use the exact hues I want, but with that color it might. It refuses to replace any thing with neutral colors which is why I can't color Kristen's hair dark for mac. I really need to figure out to get that to work because the only images i can track with her wearing dark wigs have her wearing really really bad wigs lol. She looks cute in them, the wigs themselve...not cute.

Going to play with Jason in Photoshop land some more. be back in a bit.

I could only get gold, dark orange, or a really like a mars dust redish color so I did the mars dust color on one and then the golden-orange on the other and placed the darker on top, and played with the opacity to make his skin tone a little more goldenish with the eyes as well. This more of what you were thinking? There are two versions of the whole pic and one of a close up of the eyes.

*le sigh* I love Cian. I think Spell had to be one of my favorites out of the Highlander series. It had some of the best moments in it. It is so weird because I randomly think of scenes like when Cian is carrying Jessi over his shoulder and she is getting her head beaten between her back pack and her own boobs. That makes me laugh soooo much. I can picture that scene so perfectly. Cian is a great brute, but he is so hot he can be a brute and get away with it AND be mucho rewarded for it :th_anim_naughty-vi:

lol. Not my top choice, but in terms of video footage I have available (though he has the short hair in it DAMN HIM TO HADES!) he is ALWAYS wearing expensive suits in the the series, even when getting bloodied up or doing the bloodying...and there are some shots that i am remembering that I can manipulate but manuevering the frame of the scene into working in certain points. I don't know if I should just stick with GB, go with GS or use both and crop GS's head out of the scenes :happy0194::happy0194:

pic 3 almost really did make me drool on my keyboard.

I could see NK as JB more so than GB too. GB is my fall back man. If I need a dark haired man...GB is who i snag when I can't think of anyone else because he is just great like that. But Drac was pasty facing up my video and I had to tint the whole thing red to make it not noticable lol.

JB is so perfect in my mind and no actor has come close to him yet. I was able to cast more than half the Dark-Hunters in my DH videos with no difficulty. Vlane and Mac came naturally to me, and when I try to cast someone as JB no one adds up! It is making me crazzzzy! :52:
