we have had some speculation about JZB being of the fir blog and i
was looking around on the net and found this...
Sreng
From Wikipedia, the free encycloped
In Irish mythology Sreng (often misinterpreted as Streng) was a champion of the Fir Bolg or Men of Bolg. In the first Battle of Magh Tuiredh he faced Nuada, king of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and with one great blow he cut off half his shield and severed Nuada's arm at the shoulder.
Although nearing defeat, Sreng and the three hundred surviving Fir Bolg vowed to fight to the last man. The Tuatha Dé Danann invaders, however, considered them so noble that they offered them one fifth of Ireland. They agreed, and stood down from the conflict. The Fir Bolg chose Connacht, where men traced their descent from Sreng until the 17th century.
i am not sure that JZB is a fir blog but i just wanted to throw this info into the speculation pot...

I kinda like that idea of JB being Firblog. I like the history behind them. I going to think about this further. GOD - September seems so far away.

There's more that may be important with respect to a tie-in between JB and the Fir Bolg. You say:
The Tuatha Dé Danann invaders ... offered them one fifth of Ireland. The Fir Bolg chose Connacht
This is to the west, and one of the largest cities is Galway - where JB said he is 'from'.
I read a source that went further and said that the Fir Bolg were pushed to the Aran Islands. The CLOSEST city to the Aran Islands is Galway, where JB is from. I would liken it to being from Catalina Island (which is off the coast of Los Angeles) and telling people you were from Los Angeles.
anyway, I think this is intriguing. :anim_naughty-vi:
If I'm not mistaken, the map that is included with BF specifically points out the Aran Islands.

Yep, and Mac or JZB or both will possibly make a trip to Kilronan at some point, if the dashed line is any indication.
Wheee! I've liked the idea of JZB as a Fir Bolg for some time now, always interesting to find out more.

JB on the rocks...Honest !
"WHY WAS GALWAY THE LAST REFUGE OF THE FORMORIANS ?!!!
To me, JZB
is a Bi-Racial Formorian Fae,
Royalty & warrior,
who carries a license that has a PO Box listing in Galway as his address,
cursed & damned in search of the Sinsar Dubh
to remove his curse and as a double edged sword,
save the world with a Null...
'"According to the Lebor Gabála (Book of Invasion) the ancient race of the Fir Bolg built Dún Aonghus and other stone forts on the Aran Islands. It gets it name from a Fir Bolg Chief Angus.
It also became the last refuge of the Fomorians."'

It is sooooo interesting, Jo!
Obviously we have to wait to find out. We have to know if KMM is going to have different races of Fae (she said that she might), and we have to know if the Fir Bolg are actually part of KMM's Universe (they appear in the glossary in the back!). According to this website, the Fir Bolg have a powerful, magical curse placed on them, and it certainly appears that JZB might be a cursed soul, though the nature of the curse is so obscure that we've speculated that he is anything from a vampire to a werewolf, to a cursed warrior. If the Formorians do turn out to be part of KMM's Universe, there are still more questions: Do Sidhe-seers have antennae for only the Tuatha-De? I mean, if JB were Formorian, and still Fae, wouldn't Mac sense that?
I really hope JB turns out to be something cool - like a Formorian, or Fir Bolg! That is so much cooler than a vampire.
Why o why can't we just Timewalk into the future - get to SEpt 30, get the book, then come back here and know the answers to all these! ;-)
ps those are really beautiful monuments on the website.
