Did I miss something???

I'm re-re-re-re-rereading DarkFever and I noticed something that I didn't pick up on the first several times. When Mac first sees the Gray Man and goes running to Barrons, she notices the blood on his hand and he tells her it's from a dog. She says that she finds out later there was no dog that night and it is human blood. Was her 'human blood' discovery somewhere in either Darkfever or Bloodfever and I missed it, or has it not been addressed yet?
