Why didn't JB give Mac the Maybach? Why didn't he at least offer it to her? She was the one who found the OOP. That has been bothering me ever since I read it. He already has a garage full of expensive cars, poor Mac is a-foot. He knows how much she likes fast expensive cars...though she may not have taken it because of how it got in the back of the bookstore, but still. i thought that was kind of selfish of JB.

Sunbunny - I can think of a few reasons why he wouldn't offer/give her the Maybach. The first and most important is- I think JB know her well enough to realize how much she was going to hate the idea of her involvement in the dealth of O'Bannion and his men. (He's right too - cause she hates what happened and her role she played in it.) I think JB knows she would never take the car as her own so why bother offering it to her. Secondly - Derek would know if that car was being driven around town. When he comes into the bookshop to ask Mac questions, he asks her if she's seem an expensive black car that belonged to his brother. It would get her killed in a heartbeat if she was found in it. JB doesn't want to bring that kind of attention to her or him. He's probably not going to drive that car around town either. Thirdly - she has nowhere to put it. Do you think he'd let her park it on the street? No - he knows it needs to be hidden for now. And he has a garage that's not registered with the clerk and recorder of Dublin. No one else knows what's in that garage/warehouse. AND lastly - why would JB want her to have ANY car? He needs her dependent on him. It's part of the control to keep her biddable and under his rule as much as he can. He really doesn't want her to have that much freedom. He wants to keep her under his tight guard.

I agree. Mac is very upset about her part in what happened to O'Bannion and his men and eventhough she also has a weakness for exotic and expensive cars, she wouldn't have appreciated such a gift from JZB.

i SORTA agree with that except he nearly could have gotten her killed as a result. Like when she was... wait... ah ha! thats how i use the spoiler button! its like when she was abducted by the hunters.
if she'd had a car she would have just sped home like any other "normal" person. maybe not THAT car, but A car.... however because of the above mentioned event i think we'll see him loosen his grip on her a little as the story goes along. i'm hoping for the motorcycle myself....:anim_naughty-vi:

Can't see her getting a Hog, or even a Vespa - Hunters could snatch her off of one in a heartbeat. She wouldn't touch the Maybach with a 10 foot pole, to many guilty memories. The pink mini shown in another thread would be a good idea. It's practical, cute, enclosed....hmmm, the pink would piss JB off nicely, wouldn't it? :33: She'll probably opt for a bloodred one, just to be obstinate! :65:
