As I was reading through the new posts on the board today; something caught my eye that I hadn't noticed before.

In the thread entitled "Did Anyone Else Catch This?" by Broken (posted here in the Darkfever area), LisK points out that Alina was found in the "dead" part of the city.

If what Barrons says is true (and we know it is) about the streets - then I'd like to know, "How did the police find her body in the first place?" I mean, O'Duffy said there was no LaRue Street...and until he went hunting for it, he didn't know it was there.

So, how did they find Alina? Here's my theory:

JZB found Alina, but she wasn't quite dead yet. So he called the cops told them exactly how to get to Alina. Then, not wanting to have the blame put on him, he left.

I know, I know....my theory is nuts - but there it is. Anyone else?? Please??

Hmmmm thats a good theory...so why didn't the Shades take her if she was still alive?? Maybe she was dead when JZB found her and then took her there & let the cops know. That's very interesting tho, didn't even think abou it!

i dont get it.....
Alina was found in the dead part of the city? where does it say that? i thought she was just found in an ally. across the river even.

....confused....

It wasn't in the book - it was in a thread from Broken....that's what caught my attention.

Alina wasn't found in the dead area. She was found across the river in a bad part of town (which, I guess, is part of the reason the cops figured she was into drugs cuz why else would she be there) It was in the ally that we (and Mac) got he clue about the dead area because Alina had carved the address into the ground as she was dying. What I want to know is what possesed her to go to that part of town. Is there someone there that she thought would help her? Did she just think that it was someplace nobody would look for her? Or did whatever kill her think that there would be less questions about her death if she was killed in a bad part of town?

If you remember, when Mac talked to Alina's teachers, they said that just before she died she was trying to get back into her regular schedule, attending classes, etc. I think that she was trying to break the ties with LM, and he's the one that ordered her death with Malluce as the hitman. I got the impression that she was chased into that bad part of town since she was frantic when she called Mac, and the message said that she was in fear for her life. Remember when Malluce had the Hunter's and creepy Unseelie chasing Mac? I think it was the same with Alina. Malluce bragged to LM Darroc that Mac would come to Ireland. That had to be the one and ONLY reason that they left Alina's body where it could be found, so that it would draw Mac to Dublin.

Malluce killing her makes sense in the fact that there were bunches and bunches of holes like little bite marks all over her (he did have that whole wanna be vampire thing going on) but if he was the one to kill Alina don't you think he would have used it to mock her while he was torturing her? No, I think someone else did the deed maybe on behalf of LM maybe not (JZB isn't so sure of it. It would make a dramatic twist to the story) Your probably right about just being chased there.

When Mac finally meets with the investigator in Dublin, when he mentioned drugs and holes in her body, didn't Mac go ballistic and say that her sister's body was also torn? For some reason I got the idea that the shades and some other Unseelie were responsible. Now I wonder if Malluce didn't allow them to torture her for him, and then call the garda about the body. This would fit his sadistic mentality.
