I have two theories

I'm thinking that maybe Dani's mom and Mac's were the two friends Nana talked about, and Dani's mom was somehow involved in her mother's death?

Or Dani has another secret of something she did while Mac was Pri-yatized

i think it's a far strech that dani had a hand in the killing.
i do think that it is possible that dani knew alina

there is another 'he' in the situation that Darroc doesn't even know about. who wouldn't let her out of the country? and who was after her???? Darroc says it wasn't him. and he was pained that alina wld say such a thing.
was it DEG, the shadow? or are they one in the same?

I took Dani's comment to mean that, like a typical teenager, she feels guilt for controlling the things she can't...like the death of her own mother. She is sad and struggling with anger she can't express...imagine being a Sidhe-Seer and knowing your mother died without you being able to stop it...feeling like a failure...her emotions are a roller coaster and it must be hard to constantly be trying to prove yourself while knowing, when it mattered, you couldn't.
