I recently read The Smoke Thief and The Dream Thief by Shana Abe. I loved them!

I read these this weekend and did not put either one down until I was finished reading it. They are both very good, and very different from one another.

Other authors I like (not all romance, mostly fantasy/paranormal though):

-Neil Gaiman ("Neverwere" is great, but I like everything by him. He gained fame for his "Sandman" series of graphic novels)
-Robin McKinley (I really recommend "Sunshine" for KMM readers. The Fever series reminded me of this book when I first read DF. Most of her books are considered YA. "Beauty" is my favorite book of all time.)
-Ellen Kushner
-Kresley Cole
-Jaqueline Carey (Kushiel series)
-Janet Chapman (writes time-traveling Highlander books)
-Stephenie Meyer (Writes the Twilight series that all the teenage girls are reading these days. It's YA, but all three books are a really good, romantic read)
-Lisa Kleypas has some good historicals, but I don't like all of her books

I will read pretty much anything the ladies on this board recommend. They haven't steered me wrong yet.

Some mentioned Nora Roberts. Funny, I don't like her but I love her alter ego, JD Robb and the In Death series.
I also love Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. They write great thrillers. Start with "Relic".

I also recommend the Blood Dagger Brotherhood series by J R Ward.

So far my fave of the series is Dance with the Devil.
I havn`t gotten Devil may cry. Yet
