Icon21 Highlander and Highlander. The Path of Influence

Hey everyone,

Its been absolutely forever since I've posted anything new on this website and I miss the community !!! SOOOO... I am jumping right back into the scene with this post...

Alright so I obviously adore every word Ms. Moning prints and I once remembered reading in a response she wrote to a question that Dageus MK would be played by Adrian Paul, the actor from the Highlander TV series. I took it in passing and didn't really pay attention to it too much, I noted the utter sexiness of Paul and went on lusting after Dageus.
However this past Christmas (* i told you, i've been long a while) The Sci-Fi channel had a Highlander marathon. Starting with the movies and going through the best of the series. Being the ennui stricken person i was, i watched avidly and came to this wonderful enlightenment. Highlander the TV series is arguably the bare bones blueprint for not only Dageus but for the all of the men of both the Highlander and Fever series.
Now, I am returning both to the books and to the television series at the same time. Reading and watching both in unison, the influence is clear, beautiful and amazing. Duncan MacLeod and pretty much is Daegus, just as Ms. Moning said, but we can also see the characteristic glimpses of all our other favorite men as well.

Basically i write this to share this gorgeous epiphany we all the other Maniacs whom i know salivate as i do other Daegus and the other panetheon of men. Well my amazing reader friends, we don't have to just imagine any more, we can watch the adventures as well.... to the Highlander series... utter male amazingness... amen !

I think Karen herself said that AP inspired her for Dageus.

Thumbs up Adian Paul--yum!

Dear Everyone,
I agree--but I think AdrianPaul would also make a lovely Adam...have you seen Adam shirtless--?? He is drop-dead gorgeous. I have seen him in HIGHLANDER doing a kata--he's deep into martial arts--and found myself drooling. Sighhh...
I agree that the series would be a great jumping off point for all the books Karen wrote...the only business that would need to be addressed would be the basic premise of the show:
"There can be only one."
That would need some tweaking, which I don't think the franchise would permit.
Still, anything could be possible, if people were willing...
Hugs and love,
Tina

Maybe one of us needs to send Adrian Karen's highlander series. If he would read it, maybe he would act and direct and we would finally get our highlanders on the screen.

Cool Hmmm...Adrian Paul--yum!

Dear Highlanderlas,
I think that is a brilliant idea...and Mr. Paul would have access to screenwriters and TV producers, where we 'poor' mortals don't. How could we give it a go?
Could it be that this would work??? WOW.
Hugs and love,
Tina

Coincidences? Maybe. My DH mentioned a few days ago that he wouldn't mind having the Highlander series on DVD. After I picked myself up off the floor (my DH doesn't share my reading interests and makes fun of me reading about 'men in skirts'), my thought was "but would that be a present for him or me?"
