The Scottish name Douglas is a derivative of the Celtic word Dubhglas which has several meanings: Dark Blue, Blood River, and Black Hill. The Gaelic element Dubh means dark, black (sounding familiar?) and glas, which means blue, green, gray; stream).
Dubhglas is a common Celtic river name, and might have been derived as a place name, one who dwell by a river. Traditionally there are two branches of the Douglas clan, the Red Douglas and the Black Douglas. What a colorful story!

. In the Fever books, we are dealing with myriad
dark glasses or silvers by which they travel between places
. Hmmmm....
