That Big News I kept talking about...
Wow, it seems like only yesterday that we launched the KMM board, and now we have over 200,000 posts and a fabulous community of readers, writers and fans talking books and life and Fever conspiracies. I love you guys!
There’s nothing more rewarding for a writer than to know her story/vision resonates, entertains, maybe even inspires someone. You guys inspire back me in so many ways. With your fantastic artwork, your cool siggys, your questions and theories, your enthusiastic participation in Mac’s world--and perhaps most of all, your welcoming openness and kindness to me and each other. I used to think writing was a very solitary thing, and the actual act of it must be, at least for me, in order to focus, but I’ve learned that being a writer isn’t a solitary thing at all. Every time I drop by the message board, you remind me of it. I can’t wait to finally get out and meet many of you in person. Because you guys are so awesome, I’m posting the news here first. I’ve been sitting on this for months and it’s been driving me nuts. I was going to wait a little longer, but I stumbled across some information the other day and figure it’s only a matter of time before someone else stumbles across it, too. http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/4529...fever/overview My agent is currently wrapping up the fine details of a film deal with Twentieth Century Fox/New Regency Productions. Before you get too excited, they’ve optioned the Fever Series. What that means is they plan to explore developing it. It may or may not happen. I will, of course, keep you posted as things progress. Keep your fingers crossed. I’d love to see Mac’s world on film. After seeing it so long inside my head, it’d be the biggest thrill to see it outside my head!
